Ways of working – alternative and radical education in schools, 30 April 2016.
A workshop with artists and teachers, which looked at radical educational journals from 1970s and 1980s, and asked how these histories influenced state education curriculum, and discussed the problems and usefulness of alternative methods of working in schools today.
The event reflected upon our project The Rich as a Minority Group, and asked a number of questions about the potentialities of radical and political education, and the role of artists in schools.
Invited speakers were Jo Norcup, Leanne Turvey and the Radical Education Forum. The workshop was attended by teachers, artists and activists who participated in a lively discussion.
